Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue

Amanda Duncan - Wednesday, September 15, 2010
I was lucky enough to be asked to review Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue which was released on DVD today, September 15.

I though initially I would test it with the toughest critics I could find - my kids. So as soon as my 6 year old son got home from school I put the DVD on for him and my (very excited) 4 year old daughter. For the next hour and a half there was complete silence, except of course for the movie. They were enthralled, glued to the TV. I went in a few times and asked how the movie was - "Excellent Mummy, really great!". About the third time I checked on them it was the "sad part" and even my 6 year old son was visibly moved. It got double thumbs up from the kids and my daughter said she "Loved it, loved it, loved it".

While the older children were at school and daycare I had the opportunity to watch Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue myself. It is a great all round feel good movie. There are some funny and quirky fairy characters and the story line is easy to follow yet not so predictable that adults won't enjoy watching with (or without!) the kids. I personally found the cat very funny!
The animation is beautiful and there are some great bonus features including previews and deleted scenes.

This is a great family movie and I know that it will be watched over and over at our house.

Highly recommended for the whole family!
