High Tea...with the kids!

Amanda Duncan - Tuesday, March 08, 2011

I was recently lucky enough to enjoy a High Tea at the Sir Stamford Circular Quay.
Now I am a lover of fine foods so this was right up my alley.
From the moment I had my reservation confirmed I was dreaming about what delights may await me......

But this wasn't just any High Tea, this time I was taking along my 6 year old son Maxwell.
That's right ladies (and gentlemen) no longer do you have to forgo the luxury of a delicious
High Tea just because you have kids...you can bring them along. PERFECT.

Maxwell and I arrived at The Bar at the Sir Stamford and were seated.
Wowee didn't we feel special. Maxwell was blown away.
The Bar has a relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect setting for an afternoon indulgence.

The Sir Stamford at Circular Quay are now offering The Kids High Tea where your little ones
can sit with the grown ups and enjoy their own traditional High Tea feast. The kids start off with a
fresh scone with jam & cream
followed by ham & cheese, egg & chive and poached chicken sandwiches.
Then the scrumptious chocolate & coconut crackle, strawberry fairy cup cake and finally, my son's favourite, the banana and berry split.

While Maxwell was tucking into all his yummy bite sized goodies I wasn't going without.
Sipping on champagne I enjoyed a Traditional High Tea with gorgeous Smoked Atlantic Salmon
with confit beetroot cream cheese
and Roast Mediterranean Vegetable with goat's cheese and
pesto sandwiches
.
I loved the New Seasons Mango and Yoghurt Demitasse with mint and
caramel shards
and the Black Forest Mini Cup with Chocolate mousse and cherries.

After my lovely glass of champagne I enjoyed a refreshing berry tea which smelt as good as it tasted.
My son said his favourite bit was "everything" but he especially liked how good the food looked.
I must say he is right. The presentation was magnificent.

Maxwell and I had a very posh afternoon and went home feeling full and very spoilt.

The Kids High Tea is available for children aged between 5-12 years and of course children need
to be accompanied by and adult. The Kids High Tea is priced at $32 per child and is available from
