Protection (Particularly for the Case)

Logitech have just released the new Case+ system for iPhone* 5/5S.

The new system revolves around the Case+ which is a sturdy, slim-lined iPhone case with a metal backing. It’s a nice looking case which comes in two colours: black or steel grey, and (alone) it retails for $29.95. I like that when the case is on it doesn’t bulk up your iPhone and is very slim (so will still slip into your back pocket).

I have to say I prefer cases that cover the screen as well. Case+ only protects the back and sides, but it does this well. The Case+ gives moderate protection from knocks but the real real winner with this system is the variety of accessories it provides….

The first one I trialled is Case+ tilt.

If you already have the case, +tilt (alone) will cost $19.95. To buy the set: Case+ tilt (which includes the case and +tilt), is better value at $39.95. It comes in six colours: pink, blue, black, red, grey and yellow.

Case+ tilt

The Case+ tilt is essentially a magnetic panel that attaches to the (metal backing) of the case. It is quite thin, so again doesn’t bulk-up your iPhone. The tilt bit (pink panel in above picture) folds up into a kickstand so your iPhone sits up nicely. I quite liked this at work, where I could have my iPhone sitting on my desk like a little TV and see when I received messages and calls.

The +tilt can also be used as an earbud cord wrap so you don’t have to unravel it every time you use it.

The magnetic mount (pink section above) can also allow you to pop your phone on to any metal surface, like the fridge when you are cooking dinner. A word of warning though for anyone who uses bus/train tickets – don’t put the magnet anywhere near your ticket! While I was trying out the Case+ tilt my Travel Pass ‘died’ almost certainly due to the close proximity of the magnet.

The next one I trialled was the Case+ drive.

Case+ drive: mount, case, extra square metal panel and adhesive disc

The +drive mount (alone) is $49.95 or comes as a set (with the case) for $69.95. It is available in two colours: grey and black both with a grey mount section.

I am a public transport user so I got my husband to trial this one, given he is the family taxi. He doesn’t have an iPhone 5 but the Case+ drive comes with a small square metal panel you can use in a second phone. This was a really nice surprise. The mount uses suction and can be placed on the windshield or dashboard. There is also an adhesive disc (black disc in above picture) if the suction isn’t suitable.

The mount has a really simple mechanism which you turn to ‘activate’ the suction cup.

It is super sturdy and once on isn’t going anywhere, so you won’t be worried about it just falling off the windshield. Even though it’s on tight it’s very easy to remove when you want too. My husband though it was great he could ‘use’ the phone while it was on the mount without the iPhone falling off (seeing as he only had the small square metal panel in the phone).

Logitech Case+ energy

The final one I tried was my absolute favourite, Case+ energy.

This one is little more pricey than the others but totally worth it. Alone it will set you back $99.95 and as a set (with the case) is $119.95. It is big but not too bulky and I actually really liked how the iPhone felt when it had the +energy on.

Just by popping on the +energy you can double your battery life. I had 88% battery left on my iphone the evening I put on the +energy. It lasted for nearly 3 days! I usually charge my phone at my desk all day but while I was trialling the +energy I just let it go till the battery ran out….lasting three days is amazing, and I was pretty impressed.

The other great thing is you slide the +energy on and off whenever you need a little boost. Once you have exhausted the +energy you recharge it with the USB cable (included).

If you’ve ever muttered “I’m nearly out of battery” while talking on the phone then this one’s for you!

The whole range looks so sleek and functional, I love it! The case+ drive would have to be my favourite, as it would make life as a passenger in my mum’s car better tenfold! No more heavy street directory on my lap, frantic call for directions or missed turns – just driving as sleek and effortless as the Logitech products themselves!

Case and tilt would be perfect for when the kids have my phone to use their little apps, the case protects and the tilt keeps it in the right position so i dont get grubby little finger prints all over my screen

My ancient Logitech cordless mouse. It defies the laws of electronics and runs on a single AA battery. (Lifesaving for when I can’t find two!)

I don’t have any Logitech products but the Logitech Case+ energy sounds amazing. I always charge my iPhone every night otherwise the battery is dead by morning and my alarm on my phone won’t wake me. This Logitech product would be worth every cent!!

  12. Tracy A February 26, 2014 at 12:30 am

I have a logitech wireless cordless keyboard +mouse & it makes things so much easier when you have a few laptops & children . It’s lasted nearly 3 years of constant & sometimes rough usuage & it hasn’t missed a beat . Logitech is a brand you can trust .

  13. Jennifer B. February 25, 2014 at 11:45 am

The Logitech Case + Energy sounds as though it was made just for me… I am SO good at forgetting to charge my phone, so it would keep me in contact with family far more reliably.

Ultimate ears ear buds, they cancel out everything else so I hear only what I want to hear, no whinging, wining, or him having the tv up to loud. Life’s great when it’s all about me, zoned out in my own little land πŸ™‚
